Meet Dainy | Sales & Event Producer

Today we introduce you to Dainy, 30 years old and Sales & Event Producer at DUS. With her enthusiasm and creativity, she makes sure every event runs perfectly. Curious about her story? Read on quickly!

'My name is Dainy, I am 30 years old and my position is account manager in the sales team at DUS.'

Who is your favorite colleague?
'All my colleagues are of course my favorite, but actually Helmut of course. That's our meeting chicken. If you just want to ask something in the group or give someone the floor during a workshop, you just throw it around the room or draw attention to it. Good colleague, I guess.'

What do you do to give visitors an unforgettable day?
'My goal to give visitors an unforgettable day is mainly to ensure that I have a clear idea in advance of what the goal of the day is, what needs to be accomplished on the day. And thinking about what I can do as a location to facilitate that. Just thinking along creatively, asking everything and then finally on the day itself it has to unfold completely.

What is your favorite memory at DUS?
'I actually think my first day at work is an unforgettable memory. Right then we had a very large group here on location. I was very eager to get started and the colleagues were kind enough to arrive in. That was my start at DUS.'

How did you end up at DUS?
'In several ways. I was totally stalked on LinkedIn by a position at DUS. At one point I couldn't ignore it anymore. Then two friends sent me the position independently, saying, "This is really made for you, you should check it out. Coincidentally, a friend of mine works at the booking system we use; she knew DUS and DeFabrique very well. She indicated to Dainy, you fit in so well here, you have to apply.'

What keeps your work fun?
'Actually the variety. Maybe a bit of a standard answer, but it really is like that here. One day you're brainstorming how to make the beach here fun. The other day you're completely working out an event with a client weeks or months in advance. On another day you're having a nice staff outing with DeFabrique and everyone who works here within the Holding. That keeps my work a lot of fun.'

What's the fattest event you've worked for?
'I have to say, I still have some meters to go I think. But there's a really cool event coming up. They have yet to confirm so I'm not going to name it yet, but they are probably going to organize a fashion show here at our location. Then of course the venue will be used in a really super fat way. They might want to use the center aisle as a catwalk or the play area. Then you have to imagine here outside a fashion show, all the people visiting to see what the new collection is going to be. That seems super cool and thinking about it all the time makes it really cool.

What superpower would you like at work?
'I'd really like it if everything you heard was immediately written down somewhere. That you don't have to type it all out yourself anymore.'

What quality of a colleague are you secretly a little jealous of?
'I have a colleague and she seems to remember everything that is said. That's Marrit, who remembers everything. She is also known for that. For example, she remembers that this client was here last year and asked for this and that, so she took a look at that event. That is a quality I secretly envy.

Do you have any tips for job applicants?
Just be yourself. DUS is a really nice team, part of a very nice holding company. Creativity is very important, so don't be ashamed to show during the interview how creative you are, what you want to think about and what you would like to work on. Actually, everyone here is always open to an opinion and to creativity.'

Anything else you want to share with us?
'Yes, look at where we are. Of course, we always encourage our groups to get some fresh air via outside, get some coffee and play outside. But we do it ourselves, too. We're sitting out here now on the beach nice and by the water. In the winter you have a very nice covered area. You also really have to go outside all the time and you notice that that really does some good. So practice what you preach, we do that a lot ourselves. Always play outside.
