5 tips for an effective online brainstorming session

Get your creative brain running at full speed again....

New year, new opportunities: time for new ideas! But how do you do that from behind your computer screen? Here are 5 tips for brainstorming online with your team. Your creative brain will be up and running again!

1. Quotes

Inspiration and energy reinforce each other: lots of inspiration will give you new energy and vice versa. So give your energy and inspiration a big and fresh boost. You can get this, for example, from quotes, quotations and wisdom with an inspiring message or text. The Internet and socials are full of quotes from which you can get new insights. Find an account on LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram with wisdom and a mission that suits you and start your ZOOM brainstorm by sharing quotes. What inspires you today? That way you get right into the right mindset with each other.

2. Well-known marketing campaigns

Are you working as a marketer? And will you soon have an online brainstorming session about a new marketing campaign? Then prepare yourself by watching unique and well-known marketing campaigns on YouTube. Heinz, Heineken, Coca Cola and other big brands have created the most talked-about campaigns. Guaranteed that you will be full of new ideas and inspiration during the ZOOM meeting. Good luck!

3. Create a mood board

All these different ideas in your head and you don't know what to do with them? Visualize all your thoughts on an online mood board. You will notice that while thinking and creating you will come up with new thoughts. Tools like Canva or just Powerpoint will help you get started. Search the Internet for pictures, quotes, current events or an inspiring text or image for you and paste it into your presentation. And remember: go wild! Then discuss your mood board with each other. Tip: make a joint presentation so you don't have to keep switching screens during the online meeting.

‍4. Broaden your view

Don't be scared and get out of your safety zone! Explore things outside your area of interest. Broaden your view by reading different books, watching documentaries and interesting movies and talking to inspiring people. By immersing yourself in certain topics, chances are you will change your mind and see things from a completely different angle. And in doing so, it is never wrong to broaden your knowledge. You will eventually find that you come up with many different and quality inputs during online brainstorming sessions.

5. Think solution-oriented

Think not in limitations but in possibilities. Thinking about the things that are possible will expand your vision. Keep in mind that everything is possible, if not to the left then to the right. It will also reduce a lot of stress and you will notice that your brain makes room for (creative) solutions, possibilities and ideas. The platform Omdenken contributes to this. The mission of Omdenken is to turn a problem into a fact and thereby create a new possibility. Highly recommended to follow them and maybe you get an inspiring quote from here for the start of the ZOOM-meeting or for the online moodboard. See tip 1 and 3.
